MSU vs Texas A&M

On Saturday, November 3rd, Charles and I woke up early to drive to Starkville
for the MSU - Texas A&M Snow Bowl Reunion Matchup
We did our part to white out Davis Wade Stadium...
The Bulldogs looked good...
during pre-game warm-ups...

The Famous Maroon Band then...
took the field...
for the pre-game show...

 After giving them an S - a T- an A- another T- and an E...
it was time to ring our cowbells...
and welcome our Dawgs...
to the field...

The stadium...
looked great whited out.

The teams were set...
for kick-off...
Although the Bulldogs...
came out sluggish,
we still saw some exciting plays and a few good stops.
We also saw and heard some interesting A&M cheers.

Members of the original Snow Bowl returned and were recognized during half time.
It was great to see Chris Rock/Wayne Madkin back at State and
hear the names of the players called - especially Pork Chop Womack-
and all fans, both MSU and Texas A&M gave Jackie Sherrill a cheer.

Right after the half, a lady bug landed landed
on my cowbell...
It brought a little luck as the Dawgs scored soon thereafter...
but not enough luck for us to win the game.
Even though the playing and outcome were disappointing,
Charles and I still had a great time back in Starkville and catching up with some college friends.

BJH Teacher/Student Flag Football Game

On Friday, November 2nd, the BJH Faculty took on the BJH 7th and 8th grade students in a flag football game.  It was an event not to be missed!  I arrived in time to watch some pre-game warm ups...
The teachers ran a few plays...
 and huddled...
 to discuss strategy.
Coach Willoughby took a few pre-game snaps...
I was hoping that he would play a little quarter back during the game, but he didn't.
So, alas, I saw no Dan Marino moves.
After working on his offense, Coach Willoughby practiced a little defense...
The teachers huddled for one last pep talk (and to catch their breaths!)
Coach Pipkin and Coach Willoughby discussed a few trick plays!
Then stood on the sidelines with the rest of the faculty players...
to watch their competition warm up...
The flags were finally handed out...
and put on by the faculty...
 and students...
It was then the first play of the game...
The cheerleaders did a great job cheering!
And Ms. Mathis did a great job providing commentary!

The students drove down and scored.
The teachers came right back and scored...
and made their 2 point conversion with a sweet pass to Coach Willoughby,
who high stepped it into the end zone and then spiked the ball!
Talk about hot dogging!
I was clapping (and laughing) so hard that I missed that photo op.
However, I did get a shot of him strutting out of the end zone!

It was a fast paced game...
and all of us spectators had a great time watching!

Both teams moved...
the ball down the field...
And both teams played pretty good defense...
After another of the teacher's scoring drives...
Coach Willoughby ran in another 2 point conversion...
and was awarded with touchdown calls from the sidelines!
After this score, Coach Willoughby tebowed...
which made the kids run up and congratulate him...
Both teams gave it their all...
 but in the end...
the students out ran the teachers...
and ended up winning the game.
Teachers 28 - Students 36

The teams then met...
 to shake hands...
and post game...
huddle...
Everyone had a blast at the First Annual BJH Faculty/Student Flag Football Game!
Willoughby and Pipkin - the MVPs?!?

Getting ready for Halloween

Saturday, October 20th, Charles and I picked out our pumpkins.  It was too early to carve Jack-O-Lanterns, though, so I decided to try my hand at a glitter pumpkin instead.
I finished my masterpiece before MSU's Homecoming kick-off...
and was actually pretty pleased with how the #HAILSTATE pumpkin turned out!
