Snow Day!!

Toula got up bright and early this morning - at 5:30 am or so - and woke us up by ringing her bell incessantly. Since I was awake, I decided to check on the snow. In the back, the ground and the trees on the hill were covered in snow... I saw a good dusting of snow from the front door as well...
After this quick check, we went back to sleep for a while. By 7:30, I was ready to go back out and see the snow in the sunlight...
it was so pretty in both the back yard...
and from the front door...
I waited as long as I could, but by 8:00 - 8:30, I was ready to go play in the snow. I quickly got ready and waited impatiently for Charles to get ready...
We walked out to the pretty snow filled yard...
The first thing we had to do was take our picture in the snow...
We then measured...
Depending on where we measured, we got between 2 and 4 inches of snow!

I had waited long enough; I just had to take a bite out of a snowball...
We then tried to build a snowman, but the snow was too powdery to really stick. Charles couldn't get a good snowball rolling... Since it didn't look like we could build a big snowman, we decided to try to make one on the table...
We were able to get a good mound going for the base...
but after getting the bottom shaped, when we tried to put on the middle layer, the layer just smushed and wouldn't stick. Our attempt at the table snowman just didn't turn out too well...
So, we decided to have a snowball fight!
Charles didn't have any problems making snowballs...
I tried to be nice and just hit Charles in the back and side, but Charles took aim...
and hit me right in the face while I was making a snowball...
Since it was obvious that Charles won the snowball fight, we ended it quickly!
Coach Willoughby then took snowballs...
and pitched them... toward the house...
I was determined to build a snowman, so while Charles was pitching snowballs, I got a little snowball rolling. It didn't build up too much, but I was able to get enough snow to stick to it to build it up enough to get a very small head to sit on top of the base...
I then took my little snowman to the front...
I just love the way our house looks in the snow!
I positioned our little snowman and put my hat on it...
Our poor little snowman isn't even big enough to be easily seen from the road...
But even though he was just a little snowman...
I think he is a cute little snowman...
and I had fun making him!
I needed my hat back, so our poor little snowman lost his topper and almost got lost in the rest of the snow...
Our neighborhood was covered in snow... and the roads were slushy...
I was hoping that they would be icy instead so that we could "ice skate!"
Since we weren't able to, we decided to go back inside. But before we did, Charles made it snow...
with the help of a tree...
Even though the snow was powdery, Charles and I still had fun playing in it!
