Charles and I were a little late getting to the stadium. We visited some of our good friends - the Torres family and got to meet the newest addition to their family! After our visit, we stopped for a quick dinner at Chick-fil-A and made it to the stadium right after 7:00 p.m.
Unfortunately, we hadn't bought tickets before the game, so we had to wait, and wait and wait in line. We finally made it into the stadium during the second quarter. We walked around the stadium's inner concourse and found some seats...We had heard part of the game over the loudspeaker while waiting in line. When we made it to our seats, the score was 0 - 0 and the Tigers were huddled...We were just in time to see the Tigers drive... for the touchdown!
And the extra point was good...
Yay, SP 7, Meridian zip!
Although Meridian did score a lone touchdown, SP ended up scoring four of them and won the game 28-7!!
Charles and I were so proud of the Tigers! #1 in the State of Mississippi and #1 in the nation!!

You could tell that the players were excited as they took the field after the game...
They played a good game...
Charles and I had fun watching the Tigers play!
We both really liked this sign which was being walked around near the end of the game!
We stayed to watch the victory celebration...
and prayer...
Both crowds were really into the game which made the atmosphere just great for football!
S...P...H... #1 !
The victory celebration continued...
and just about everyone on the field got a chance to hold the trophy!
We were glad that Coach Pipkin got a chance to hoist the trophy too!!Charles and I decided to let the crowds thin out before we headed out. However, they turned the lights off on our side of the stadium, so we decided we better go ahead and head out!
Jackson, MS - Home of the South Panola Tigers!
Charles and I had a great time cheering on the Tigers, including several of his former players! Both Market and Brassell, MSU committees, played a great game! Can't wait to see them in Maroon and White!!
