Thanksgiving 2010

The Saturday before Thanksgiving, Charles and I met his mom, Doug, Leslie, Tyler and Tatum for an early Thanksgiving dinner in Southaven before their trip to Arkansas.

On Thanksgiving, we woke up to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was so much fun to watch it this year and see a lot of the balloons and floats we saw live last year! We watched most of it, but had to miss some of the parade and drive to Batesville for Thanksgiving lunch with Mama and Jerry. We arrived right in time for lunch...
Mama cooked a delicious lunch of sweet potatoes, creamed potatoes, green bean casserole, squash casserole...
deviled eggs, pear salad, cranberry jelly, ham, turkey...
English peas and, of course, chicken and dressing and rolls.
It was all really good!!
Instead of her fall china, we ate on brown pottery which was just perfect for Thanksgiving!

After that huge lunch, we had to wait for our dessert, but it was definitely worth the wait...
banana pudding! It was really good too!
The wait gave us an opportunity to tune into the Thanksgiving football games.
Before we left, Mama gave me an early present to open...A Christopher Radko ornament. She gives us one each year, and this year's Christmas Tree ornament was really pretty! I am glad that she gave it to me at Thanksgiving rather than at Christmas so that it can hang on this year's tree.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
And Thanksgiving Weekend got even better! Charles and I donned our Mississippi State t-shirts and sweatshirts and tuned into the Egg Bowl. It was an exciting game.
We were so glad that State won once again and got to bring the golden egg back to Starkville!
