Eight Wonderful Years

June 1st, Charles and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary! I can't believe that it has been eight years already!
We had a wonderful day. I got to have lunch with Charles which I really enjoy, and after lunch, Charles brought these gorgeous Circus roses to my office...They are just beautiful and make my office smell so good!
After work, we had a delicious anniversary dinner at Como Steakhouse. Then we pulled out our wedding and Paris pictures and had a fun stroll down memory lane.
It was such a wonderful day, and Glee was the perfect ending to it!

Memorial Day Weekend

Charles and I had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!
Saturday evening, Charles and I drove to Oakland for dinner at Country Catfish (an early anniversary present to Charles). It was delicious!

Sunday, we went to see the final Shrek movie - in 3D. It was cute. Then, we fired up the grill a little early and had a delicious dinner of pasta and grilled vegetables...

Delicious!
Monday, we fired up the grill again and had a delicious lunch of Daddy's ribs, Ma's baked beans and ranch potatoes...
Ohhh, it was so good! I made Ma's sour cream pound cake for dessert. Part of it stuck to the pan, so it wasn't as pretty as I had hoped, but it tasted really good and made a perfect base for strawberry shortcake...

We had such a nice Memorial Day weekend and are so thankful for all those who have served in the military to defend our rights, freedoms and liberty.

Baseball Banquet

May 18th was the South Panola Baseball Banquet - the first sports banquet I've ever attended, although Charles is a pro at them both from the player side and the coach side. Charles and I both enjoyed it!
The room was decorated in SP blue and red with baseballs, and we enjoyed a delicious bbq dinner and a variety of homemade desserts! A photo slide show played throughout the dinner of the junior high games, and all of the players were highlighted. After the guest speaker, Charles handed out the BJH awards. Several 7th graders and several 8th graders were honored for their contributions on the field and off of the field. Charles did a great job! You could tell the coach really liked his players and that the players really liked their coach!!
After the banquet, pictures were taken of each grade's ball players.
The 8th grade...

and the 7th grade...

All the players took their coach's advise and dressed so nicely for the banquet!

What a wonderful ending to a great, winning first season!!
