Mississippi State v. Wake Forrest - Music City Bowl 12-30-11

Charles and I were excited to travel to Nashville on December 30th for the Music City Bowl!
We hit Jackson, TN right around lunch, so we decided to stoat Red Robin for an early and quick lunch.

After checking into our hotel and resting just a bit, we headed to LP Field... The watch the Mississippi State Bulldogs...

take on the Wake Forrest Demon Deacons.

We easily found our seats...

and checked everything out...

It was great weather for the game - a little chilly but clear skies.

It was fun to see Bully walk onto the sideline - what a cutie!!
Our seats were really close to the field - the second row...

and we were right by the Mississippi State tunnel.

We got our cowbells situated and in easy reach for ringing!

and rang them...

as the Bulldogs took the field for warm-ups.

After the players ran out...

Coach Mullen came out... and took it all in.

The players continued their warm-ups...

and by now the stadium lights had come on... and the stadium was filling - mostly with Maroon and White. The full team came out for warm-ups...

to the ringing of cowbells...

They warmed up for a bit...

and had a full team huddle...

while Bully made sure all was ok on the State sideline...

The players left the field...

to cheers from the crowd.

Now we were ready for the team to take the field to play football!

We were directed to look up...

to watch the game ball and the American flag...

parachute to the field (it was a bit breezy and for a bit it looked like the jumper would be landing in our seats instead of on the field!!)...

Both landed with no problems...

What a way to start the game!

After the Star Spangled Banner...

and the introduction of the teams...

the captains met... on the field...

and then it was time to play ball!

Our first play started off promising...

but we ended up playing pretty sloppy... through the first...

Although our defense played hard all game long!

We finally started playing ball...

and scored!

Fletcher Cox played a great game!!

During half-time, we enjoyed sounds from the Famous Maroon Band...

We continued to ring our cowbells throughout the second half...

and rang even harder at the end of the game!!

Mississippi State 23 - Wake Forrest 17

Way to go Dawgs!!

The after game celebration was exciting!

We had such a fun time at the game!

Jackie Wayne even showed up on the sidelines...

Coach Mullen made his way to the stage...

and the trophy was hoisted...

amidst confetti and pyrotechnic displays...

After addressing...

the crowd...

the trophy was shown off...

to the Maroon and White faithful...

It was a great day to be an MSU Dawg!!
