Christmas Decorations 2013

This year, I decided to add another Christmas tree.
Toula helped me get it out of the box!

It was the perfect tree for a Mississippi State Christmas Tree!
White tree with white lights and maroon and white ribbons...

I just love all of our MSU ornaments...
especially our Our State Our Trophy ornament from our Egg Bowl trip to Starkville and win this year
and our 2013 Omaha ornament!

After decorating the new Mississippi State tree, I decorated our main Christmas tree and living room...

I love all of those ornaments too - all the Christopher Radko ornaments...
and ornaments that bring back such wonderful memories!

I then decorated our travel tree...

topped with an Eiffel Tower...

It was fun remembering all the trips Charles and I have taken together and all the fun places we've visited!
Including our recent trip to Omaha...

Then I decorated the Christmas tree in our room which has our painted ornaments on it...

I just love this tree!
I think this year's ornaments were the perfect additions...
 to the tree!

I added Santas to the entry...

and our stockings and the nutcrackers to the mantel...

My bunny bell from Daddy joined the Nativity Set...

and a few poinsettias were added to the coffee table...

and a few Christmas touches were added to the bookcase...

with the snowmen finding their home for the season...

I kept the table setting simple this year...

as well as the rest of the Christmas decorations...
on Ma's tea cart...
and on the...
kitchen...
counters...

and on the island...

The outside was simple this year too...

But I think that all of the decorations turned out perfectly.

Gobble, Gobble - Egg Bowl 2013

Thankfully, the Egg Bowl is back where it belongs - on Thanksgiving Day!
Instead of the usual Thanksgiving Day lunch with Mama and Jerry, this year,
Charles and I had Thanksgiving lunch at The Little Dooey...
Yum, that's some good bbq!!

After lunch, we made our way to Campus Book Mart where
we met Jackie Wayne Sherrill...
The guys in front of us were one for State and one for Ole Miss, and
we had a great time just listening to Jackie's conversation with the one for Ole Miss!!

After ringing our cowbells during the Dawg Walk, we stuck on our
game day stickers...
and made our way to our seats...

We can't wait to see the expansion completed!!

The Bulldogs took the field for pre-game warm-ups...
and we enjoyed a hot dog while watching them...

The Famous Maroon Band...
got everyone excited for the Dawgs to take the field...

The game was an exciting one!
Damian Williams, our freshman quarter back, played pretty well for his first MSU start against our rivals.

The Bulldogs scored first - finally in the second quarter -
but right in the final seconds before half time, tsun scored and tied the game.
They came out and kicked a field goal early on in the 3rd quarter and the game remained
10 them 7 us for the longest time...

It was fun watching Kendrick Market make some great defensive plays!

Everyone rang loudly when Dak Prescott entered the game in the 4th quarter!
With the way he played, you could not tell he had been out with an injury for
the last few games.

We were able to tie the game with a little over 2 minutes left in the 4th.
The MSU faithful rang loudly and thought we had cause to celebrate with
another field goal attempt for the win at the end of regulation -
unfortunately, it was no good.

So, the Egg Bowl went into overtime...
and what an overtime it was!

Pressure from the Dawgs caused Ole Wallace to fumble in overtime,
leading to a Mississippi State victory!
Oh,
it was...
SO...
 exciting!!

Charles and I

loved seeing Our State Our Trophy on the jumbo tron!
We had SUCH a FUN time in Starkville cheering on our Dawgs!!

Painting Christmas Ornaments - 11-23-13

On November 23rd, Charles and I enjoyed lunch at Wimpy's then made our way to the Mud Monkey to paint our Christmas ornaments for this year.

The assortment of ornaments to choose from was very limited, but after finally deciding on which ornaments to paint, we concentrated on painting...
We had a fun time painting them, and I think that they turned out pretty well this year...

We were both pretty pleased with our results!
