Toula's Outdoor Adventure - March 8, 2014

Saturday was a gorgeous day.  It felt just like Spring!
We thought Toula might enjoy the beautiful weather, so we took her outside.
She hopped out of her home and checked out the little patch of grass between Charles and me...

She was on high alert as evidenced by her ears being perked up...

She quickly decided outside was not the place for her!
After plopping down on the ground and looking at us pleadingly to take her back inside, she got up and cleaned the grass off of her face...

She is just such a sweetie and SO cute!!!

Charles brought her back inside, and she headed straight to her box tent...

where she stayed for pretty much the rest of the afternoon!

Crawfish - March 8, 2014

Saturday was such a beautiful day!
The perfect day for enjoying an outside crawfish lunch...
We were so glad that the crawfish hut was open.
In addition to crawfish, Charles brought back shrimp
and gator bites -- delicious!

Luke Bryan with Cole Swindell & Lee Brice - March 7, 2014

My Valentine's present this year from Charles was tickets
to Luke Bryan's That's My Kind of Night Tour with Lee Brice and Cole Swindell.
Such a fun gift!!
Charles and I both had a great time!

After a quick dinner at Wimpy's, we made our way to the FedEx Forum.
We arrived a little early and quickly made it to our seats...

and just chilled it waiting on Cole Swindell...

He was a great opening act...

and played several songs from his Cole Swindell album...

including Hey Y'all, Brought to You by Beer, Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,
You Ain't Worth the Whiskey and, of course, Chillin' It.
He got the night started off right!
He brought lots of energy and lots of fun to the stage!

After his set, we sat back and waited for Lee Brice to take the stage...

and enjoyed his performance too...

He performed Hard to Love, Parking Lot Party, Beer, I Drive Your Truck, I Don't Dance,
and my favorite Woman Like You.
He ended with a song from his upcoming album Drinking Class
which for some reason reminded me a little bit of Bruce Springsteen.
His drummer was AMAZING too!!

After another break during which it seemed like the whole Forum sang along to Dixieland Delight,
it was time for Luke Bryan to take the stage...

and take the stage he did...
by making his entrance atop a black pick-up rising from under the stage!

He opened with That's My Kind of Night
which just set the tone for the whole, fun, energy filled concert!

It was filled with lots of dancing too!!

He performed everything, including
Rain is a Good Thing
Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye
All My Friends Say
Country Man
Someone Else Calling You Baby
Do I
Play It Again

He then played a few snippets of songs,
including a little JT (he hit Justin Timberlake's high pitch) and performed a little Elvis on the piano.
We just had to sing along to Suspicious Minds!

Cole Swindell and Lee Brice joined him on stage to cover Macklemore & Ryan Lewis'
Can't Hold Us, which was so fun!!

He performed Muckalee Creek Water and Crash My Party and
a pier rose from under the stage for Drink a Beer...

Then some Drunk on You  and I Don't Want This Night to End.
He also covered Taio Cruz's Dynamite.

After The Only Way I Know with
Jason Aldean and Eric Church on the screens and jumbo trons,
the show ended with Country Girl (Shake It For Me)...

They all put on such great performances packed with lots of fun and energy
but interspersed with poignant moments too.
We had such a FUN evening!!
