Toula and the turtle

September 23rd, Charles found a turtle while mowing our yard.

He decided Toula might want a friend to play with, so he brought the turtle inside...

Toula wasn't too sure...

about... 

the turtle...

But after a little...

coaxing...

she got brave and decided to check...

the turtle out...

 and make sure the turtle didn't steal any of her treats!

After she figured out that the turtle wasn't going to steal her treats,

she had...

had enough...

 and wouldn't give the turtle any more attention!

Ron White

On September 22nd, Charles and I headed to Tunica to enjoy Charles's birthday present.

We had a nice, filling, buttery dinner at Paula Deen's followed by Ron White...

 He was great!

 I was laughing so hard that I had tears rolling down my face...

We had a great evening (and even had a little luck in the casino)!

Sweet Blue and White

On September 21, 2012, Charles and I were in Tiger Stadium to watch South Panola take on Horn Lake.

The Tigers took the field...

and played hard from kick-off...

through the rest of the game...

I enjoyed hearing Charles's former baseball boys' names being called for great plays!  

We heard both Bailey's name and DaShawn's name called several times.

I also enjoyed watching the Tigers line up for punts so we could 

really see #7 (DaShawn) and #14 (Hayes) in action!

When the final buzzer sounded, the South Panola Tigers were victorious!

Happy Birthday, Charles

 Charles's birthday fell during the week.  

I told him that we would celebrate his birthday on the following weekend.  

(This caused his catfish dinner from Mama and Jerry to end up being way later than his birthday this year, 

but his birthday card showed up right on time.)

So for his actual birthday, I decided to cook dinner for him.  

I made one of his favorite meals - cheesy chicken pasta with corn and broccoli.  

and for dessert, a pound cake...

topped with fresh strawberries...

Of course, the best part of a homemade cake, is getting to lick the bowl!

After dinner, Charles got to open his present...
