Happy Birthday to me!

My birthday celebration began earlier than my actual birthday. Molly gave me my first birthday presents on our Tuesday evening get-togethers on the Tuesday before my birthday! I just love the birdhouse and cute ice cream bowls she gave me. I am so thankful to have such a sweet and thoughtful friend who know me so well!!

Charles and I had a wedding in Louisiana on the weekend before my birthday, so we decided to go a little early and enjoy New Orleans for a few days! We stopped in Hattiesburg for a nice overnight visit with Charles's mom. She treated us to a delicious dinner, and we enjoyed a couple of games of Scrabble. I won the first game - which is quiet an accomplishment when playing with Charles and his mom; they learned the game from the best - Grandmother. Before we left, she gave me birthday presents to open -a cute little bunny and a tea pot planter for our patio!

We had such a good visit and such a fun time in New Orleans! We came back home the day before my birthday.

My birthday morning, I woke up to the sweetest card and presents from Charles...

I decided I wanted to go ahead and open them that morning rather than wait for later in the day...Charles always finds the most perfect gifts! I enjoy drinking tea, so he found a cute little green and white toile tea cup and saucer which has a tea strainer for loose tea in it which lifts out and the cutest little lid which has a rabbit on top!He also bought a Veitri Poppies utensil holder (which I have turned into a vase!)...

My birthday started off great!
After lunch, I was surprised with a delivery to my office...

I also enjoyed a birthday cheesecake celebration at work and a sweet card from all my co-workers.

Charles and I met Mama and Jerry at Como Steakhouse for a delicious birthday dinner...

I had told Mama that I wanted money instead of presents this year for my birthday - it was a sad decision, but I'm actually becoming an adult! So Mama and Jerry treated us to dinner and gave me money for my birthday as requested...

However, Mama had a present for me to open too!!Veitri Poppies bowls which I just love! Mama had already given me the salad plates and condiment bowls which I just love and used to set my table with...

I can't wait to use my pretty bowls!
It was so funny that Charles and Mama both gave me Poppies pieces - for once they had not discussed what presents they were going to give me!

I had such a wonderful birthday!

Toula enjoyed all my birthday presents too - or at least their boxes! She bit off a piece of ribbon and then sniffed and played with the boxes and bows some more...She then returned to the ribbon, picked it up and chewed...and chewed...After she was finished with her choice of ribbon, she went back to explore some more...and then decided to abandon the boxes and hop over to me for some rubbies!
