It began this year with a painted horse...
There were so many participants this year - the parade just kept going and going. We saw lots of decorated bikes...
strollers...
wagons (I think this one was my favorite entry!)...
and even ATV's...
We really enjoyed the parade!On July 4th, Charles and I went to watch the fireworks at Snowden Grove.
We picked a good spot, and Charles got comfy in his chair...
while I took a spot on our blanket...
We arrived early to get a good spot and enjoyed people watching before we watched the fireworks.
We also enjoyed some pre-fireworks show fireworks in some of the surrounding neighborhoods.The firework show finally began. We watched the fireworks stream into the air...
and explode... 
We really enjoyed the show...
and saw so many beautiful fireworks!
I really liked the red, white and blue ones since it was the 4th of July - so festive!
As the show continued, Charles decided to get a better seat for viewing...
The grand finale was spectacular!
We had a fun time watching the fireworks, and we did a pretty good job of picking a spot to watch them, so we didn't have too bad of a time with the traffic leaving!
Charles had a surprise waiting for me when we got home from Snowden - more fireworks!

Charles knows my favorites - sparklers, Roman candles, jumping jacks and roses and big fireworks.
Of course, I just had to open the sparklers first...

Charles and I had fun celebrating July 4th, but took time out of the festivities to reflect and be thankful to the men and women who sacrifice so that we can enjoy our freedoms.
