Spring fun...

Thursday's forecast called for stormy weather. Charles and I had tickets to the performance of The Color Purple at the Orpheum and after getting home from work, while the sky was overcast, it didn't look too bad, so we decided to enjoy a pre-show dinner in Memphis. We decided to try Texas de Brazil. We have said that we were going since it opened but somehow had not managed to make it there yet. It was worth the wait. We had a delicious "continuous dinner." The salad bar complete with lobster bisque, sushi and an assortment of cheeses was the perfect start to our dinner, and all of the different meats were delicious. We had a wonderful dinner. However, the walk from Texas de Brazil to the Orpheum was not wonderful...we managed to time it so that we were walking while the heaviest of the rain was falling. The wind was blowing so hard that the rain was literally falling sideways. Our umbrellas helped some; however, by the time we got to the Orpheum, Charles's khaki pants were there original color on the back and a deeper color on the front thanks to the rain! I think we finally dried out by the end of the performance!
The performance of The Color Purple was just wonderful! All of the cast did an excellent job, and the story and the music were captivating. We had a wonderful evening.

The weekend's weather was much better - just beautiful! Saturday, I enjoyed reading a book outside, and then Charles and I worked on the yard. Charles got our back hill sprayed, so we will finally be able to plant our ivy behind the retaining wall this weekend!

Sunday our friends, Matt, Mary Ann and Nathan came to visit us. We had such a good visit with them all!
Nathan is just too cute and so well behaved!
Charles, Matt and Nathan enjoyed a little game of catch outside...Then Nathan wanted to come inside to see Toula. Although she is usually a little skittish, we coaxed her out of her home by telling her we had her a treat. Nathan very patiently tried to feed it to her...
She wouldn't come close enough to eat it out of his hands, so we put it on the floor for her...
She enjoyed her treat and thanked Nathan for it by allowing him to pet her!

We then headed back outside for some more play time. I just love this picture...
Isn't he too cute?
He and I then had a little twirling time which was fun for us both...
We then enjoyed dinner with Matt, Mary Ann and Nathan.
Of course, last night was the Cubs opening season game. Thankfully, they started out with a mark in the W column. Hope their season goes as well as the game last night went!!
