Happy Anniversary

Today I had the sweetest surprise waiting for me when I got home from work - six beautiful roses and the sweetest note wishing me a Happy Engagement Anniversary! Six years ago today, Charles proposed.
Our proposal story:
Charles was teaching and coaching in Brookhaven, and I was in Oxford for law school. Brookhaven's high school football team had made it to the playoffs but Charles told a little fib and said that they were still in it that weekend when they actually had lost the weekend before. He enlisted Mama to get me out of the apartment, so she and I went to Southaven for dinner and a little shopping. While I was out, Charles had prepared everything. He even parked his car in the back parking lot so that I would not know that he was there.
When I walked in the door, a vase with a single white rose awaited me. Attached was a cute little note that sent me upstairs. Upstairs I found a vase with two more white roses and a note sending me to the front door where I found a note sending me to the back patio. As I arrived at the back door, Charles opened it. He had candles lit all around the patio and along the back wall and a vase filled with two dozen white roses waiting. He took my hands and said some very sweet things and then got down on one knee. He definitely made the proposal special - one of the best evenings of my life!
