Today, Hernando had its Christmas Open House. Charles came along with me, and we saw a couple of cute things and bought a couple of Christmas presents (my first purchases of the season and still a lot left to do). We decided to stroll through one of the antique stores in Hernando and happened upon our Christmas present to each other...a piece for our entry (hopefully) which is a perfect compliment to the beautiful buffet Mama gave us as our housewarming present!
I noticed it right off the bat, and Charles seemed to like it too. We borrowed the owner's tape measure and ran home to see if it would fit...I think it will!! So, we ran back to the store (and got there just a couple of minutes before closing) and purchased it. For now it is still in the store with a pretty little "SOLD" sign on it. Mama and Jerry are bringing Jerry's truck up one day this week so that we can bring it home. I can't wait!
At one of the stores at Open House, they were serving little nuggets of catfish from Catfish Country. Charles tried one and gave it his stamp of approval, so for being such a good sport today (going into every store I wanted to, waiting patiently in each store and commenting each time I said this is cute or I like this), I treated him to a catfish dinner. It was really good! Although it can't beat Oakland, we have found a place to eat good catfish for those times we don't want to drive an hour or so for it!
